Runcie Mike, the Lead Pastor of The Evening Church in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state, has been officially pronounced dead.
According to Naija News, the well-known pastor from Akwa-Ibom passed away two days after officiating the funeral of the 36-year-old daughter of one of his followers.
The Nation reports that the pastor whose church is housed at the Tropicana Centre shopping mall in Uyo reportedly passed away on Saturday, July 1, in Uyo, following a brief illness.
Many churchgoers initially believed the news to be fake when it first broke, but the church’s leadership later confirmed the tragic development.
“In this time of grief, we enjoin the body of Christ to hold us up in prayers, especially His immediate family,” the church proclaimed.
There are two children and a wife left behind by the late pastor Runcie Mike.
