Chidera Ejuke restored Nigeria’s lead with a calm finish before Victor Osimhen took charge of proceedings, netting twice to seal the win and secure the Super Eagles’ passage to the final playoff round.
Nigeria’s defence, led by Benjamin Frederick and Calvin Bassey, held firm against Gabon’s late offensive efforts, ensuring the scoreline remained emphatic.
The result keeps Nigeria’s dream of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup alive, with the decisive playoff round now standing between the Super Eagles and a place at the global tournament.
