Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has donated N1 million each to families of Kano athletes and officials who lost their lives in a recent road accident while returning from the Gateway 2024 National Sports Festival.

The donation was delivered on Sunday by a delegation from Ogun State led by Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele. Other members of the team included Secretary to the State Government Tokunbo Talabi, Commissioner for Sports Wasiu Isiaka, and Executive Secretary of the LOC, Dr Kweku Tandoh.

The delegation visited Kano to express condolences on behalf of the governor, who is currently on Hajj. The team also commended emergency responders and prayed for the quick recovery of those still receiving treatment.

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdusalam Gwarzo, received the delegation and expressed appreciation, noting that Governor Abiodun had earlier called to offer his condolences.
