Camavinga is one of the most exciting prospects to emerge in recent years and will look to make an instant impression on Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The Spanish club saw off competition from Manchester United to recruit the 18-year-old France international having had a bid of £27million plus add-ons accepted by Rennes.

The club announced his signing with a short message on their website. It read: ‘Real Madrid CF and Stade Rennais FC have agreed to transfer the player Eduardo Camavinga, who will remain linked to the club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2027.’

PSG was also interested in the youngster but it is Real who stole a march on their rivals to secure the teen on a long-term contract.

The midfielder came through the youth ranks at Rennes and made his first-team debut at the age of 16, making him the club’s youngest ever professional.

Rennes have kept the Camavinga out of their starting line-up for their last three games due to the ongoing speculation regarding his future.

The club maintained that the midfielder would either sign an extension or be sold this summer and his departure has now been confirmed.

Camavinga made his senior France debut in September 2020 at the age of 17 and scored his first international goal a month later with a sensational overhead kick. [Sky Sports]
