The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced an increase in Corps Members’ monthly allowance to N77,000, beginning this month, March 2025.

The announcement was made by the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, during an interactive session with Corps Members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja.
Addressing concerns about the delay in implementing the allowance increase, Brigadier General Nafiu reassured Corps Members of the NYSC’s commitment to their welfare. He emphasized that the scheme maintains accurate records and that payments would be made without issues.
He urged Corps Members to remain dedicated to their service year, highlighting the NYSC’s role in fostering national unity and instilling values such as patriotism and teamwork. He also acknowledged the contributions of Corps Members and encouraged continued support from stakeholders.
Expressing appreciation for the commitment of Corps Members, Brigadier General Nafiu assured them of the government’s recognition of their efforts. In response, Corps Members welcomed the increase, with Zaka Deborah Alheri speaking on behalf of her colleagues at the Garki Zone to thank the Director General for ensuring the payment adjustment.
