The decision was reached unanimously by the governors under the North West Governors Forum as a mark of respect for Buhari, whom they described as a leader committed to service, integrity, and national progress.
Buhari’s remains are expected to arrive in Katsina on Tuesday, where Islamic burial rites will be held at 2 p.m.
The governors also conveyed their condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the late president’s family, the people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians mourning his passing.
