Daily News 24 reports that this information was revealed in a press statement issued on Thursday, January 23, 2024, by party leaders in the Kawaji constituency of Nassarawa Local Government Area.

According to the statement, Yankaba was dismissed from the NNPP for allegedly betraying the party.

The sack of Yankaba comes days after he claimed during an interview that both Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf no longer belong to the NNPP. Yankaba had asserted that the party with the fruit logo is the original NNPP, criticizing Kwankwaso and key party members for changing the logo to a book symbol.

He emphasized that the Kano state government was elected under the original NNPP and urged party leaders to unite for the advancement of the party.

The statement also disclosed that Yankaba was invited to defend himself against accusations of betrayal on Wednesday but he failed to honor the invitation.
