The empowerment event took place on Thursday in Abuja, where the Group Chief Operating Officer of NNPCL, Roland Ewubare, represented the Group CEO, Bayo Ojulari, to present the packages. Ewubare said the support reflects NNPCL’s commitment to integrity and excellence and described the beneficiaries as top performers selected from a competitive process.

The initiative is a collaboration between the NNPCL Foundation, NYSC, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and Kudimata Nigeria Ltd, designed to improve the lives of young Nigerians through financial empowerment.

According to the Managing Director of the NNPCL Foundation, Emmanuella Arukwe, more than 800,000 corps members have received financial literacy training since August 2023. The 531 beneficiaries were selected after scoring at least 70% in a rigorous evaluation process.

The Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, commended the program for providing both training and the tools needed to start businesses. One of the beneficiaries, Ozigi Faith, said the support was life-changing and encouraged others to remain focused and make the best use of the opportunity. The Registrar-General of CAC, Hussaini Magaji, urged the corps members to register their businesses and take advantage of digital platforms to access funding and grow sustainable enterprises.
