The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Ltd has confirmed that search and rescue efforts are still ongoing to recover additional bodies following a tragic helicopter crash in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The helicopter, operated by East Winds Aviation, was reported to have crashed, claiming the lives of three individuals.

In a press statement, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, noted, “Beyond the three bodies found in the ill-fated helicopter, no other bodies have been recovered.” He also emphasized that the company is collaborating with relevant authorities to intensify the search for the remaining individuals.

“Our hearts and prayers are with family members of this unfortunate incident,” Soneye expressed, extending condolences to the families affected by the crash.
