The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a warning in response to reports that soldiers have surrounded the venue of its meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.

In a tweet, the NLC cautioned that any attempts to intimidate its leaders would only exacerbate the situation and potentially prolong the ongoing strike indefinitely.

The meeting, summoned by the SGF, is believed to be related to the minimum wage dispute and the nationwide strike currently underway.

The NLC emphasised that its leaders are acting in accordance with the directives of their organs and vowed to continue fighting for the rights of working people in Nigeria.
