The rumors began after a Facebook user, Ifeoma Chigbo, shared a video suggesting Nuhu’s death, followed by another post alleging he had been involved in a fatal car accident.

In a statement released Monday evening, Brian Etuk, NFC’s Director of Public Affairs, described the claims as “false and malicious”. He assured the public that Ali Nuhu is alive, in good health, and continues to perform his duties as Managing Director and Chief Executive of the corporation.

The NFC also warned that measures are being taken against those responsible for spreading the misinformation. The corporation expressed gratitude to members of the public and stakeholders who have shown concern over the rumors.
