The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has appointed Shafi’u Abdulmumini as the new commandant for its Kano State Command.

Abdulmumini, a native of Dayi in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, officially assumed duty on Friday, February 14, 2025, during a brief ceremony attended by senior officers and a representative of the NSCDC Zone 12 Commander.
During the handover, the outgoing commandant, Mohammed Lawal Falala, expressed gratitude for a successful tenure and urged officers to support his successor in advancing the corps’ mission in the state.
In his first address as commandant, Abdulmumini called for cooperation from personnel, emphasizing his commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and ensuring the security of Kano residents.
He described Kano as a “second home” and pledged to strengthen the corps’ operations in the state.
