Daily News 24 reports that this is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the NDLEA Kano Command, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, who confirmed that a 37-year-old suspect, Ali Muhammad, was arrested in connection with the seizure. The interception took place along the Zaria–Kano road at Gadar Tamburawa.
According to the statement, the drugs were concealed in a trailer transporting tricycles (Keke Napep) from Lagos to Maiduguri. Operatives discovered the substances hidden between the tricycles and beneath a wooden compartment constructed under the trailer.
The Commander of the Kano State Strategic Command, ACGN A.I. Ahmad, praised the officers for their vigilance and noted that the suspect and exhibits are now in custody pending investigation and laboratory tests to confirm the substances.
He also expressed appreciation to the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.), for his continued support, which he said enables operatives to act decisively against drug traffickers.
The NDLEA further urged the public to stay vigilant and to report suspicious consignments or activities to the nearest NDLEA office or other security agencies.
