Two operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano have been taken into custody over the alleged shooting and killing of a 19-year-old girl, Patience Samuel, in Jaba quarters.

According to sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday night at around 10:55 pm. Police officers arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

The arrested officers, Nass Ridwan Usman, 23, and Sna Ismaila Yakubu, 26, were attached to the NDLEA’s Kano state command. A search of their belongings reportedly led to the recovery of a motorcycle, ammunition, and two knives.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
