The raids, conducted on August 7 and 8, targeted notorious drug hotspots across the state.
NDLEA Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, disclosed that the operation led to the seizure of cannabis sativa, Pregabalin, diazepam, codeine syrup, Rohypnol, “Suck and die,” rubber solution, and locally made weapons.
The operation focused on areas known for drug activities, including Massallacin Idi, Fagge Plaza, Kofar Mata, and Kofar Wambai. Additional raids at Kano Line Motor Park and Tashar Rami Motor Park in Na’ibawa resulted in the arrest of 15 more suspects.
Maigatari said the elevation of NDLEA operations to a strategic command level has significantly improved the agency’s effectiveness in tackling drug-related crimes. Commander A.I. Ahmad added that the crackdown was intended to dismantle drug joints and disrupt the operations of known traffickers.
