The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, has arraigned Suleiman Aminu, also known as Danwawu, a notorious drug trafficker, before the Federal High Court in Kano.

He was brought before the court on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in a case presided over by Justice M.S. Shu’aibu.

Daily News 24 reports that this announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement issued by the NDLEA, Kano State Command. Danwawu was arrested during a joint operation by the Nigeria Police Force, Kano Command, at his residence in Tudun Yola Quarters, with several cartons of tramadol.

Commissioner CP Ibrahim Bakori said Danwawu is a repeat offender, having been previously arrested in July 2022 for trafficking 500 cartons of tramadol. The NDLEA later seized more drugs during a follow-up raid after taking him into custody.

Danwawu has been linked to a large drug trafficking network that has negatively affected communities in Kano and neighboring states for several years.

Following the arraignment, the court ordered that Danwawu be remanded in a correctional facility until his next hearing on June 16.
