Power generation dropped drastically at 8:16 am, following two earlier collapses on Monday and Tuesday, with electricity supply going off during restoration attempts.

Checks by our correspondent confirmed that power generation was at 3,042 megawatts as of 8 am, peaking at 3,968 megawatts by 7 am. However, by 9 am, generation had dropped sharply to just 47 megawatts.

At the time of filing this report, power allocation to distribution companies stood at zero.

The exact cause of the latest collapse remains unknown, as efforts to reach the Transmission Company of Nigeria for clarification were unsuccessful.
