The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has admitted it carried out the airstrike that mistakenly killed 15 people in Dangebe Village, Zamfara State, on January 11, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters. He said the force had fulfilled its promises to the victims’ families by providing financial support, rebuilding a damaged structure, replacing two destroyed motorcycles, and constructing a borehole in nearby Kambarawa Village.

The affected community expressed appreciation for the gesture, commending the NAF for taking responsibility and responding swiftly. Community leaders said the interventions brought some relief and showed a commitment to healing.

Ejodame said the NAF remains committed to transparency, accountability, and minimizing civilian harm in its operations. He added that the force would continue to engage with communities and uphold professionalism in all its missions.
