The court took the action after officials of the Kano State Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB), led by Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, discovered that the facilities failed to meet hygiene standards despite previous warnings.

In addition, the court prosecuted individuals caught dumping stones, sand, and other construction materials along Sabon Gari road, an act that blocked the area’s drainage system.

The case was presented by government counsel Bahijja H. Aliyu, and the accused persons pleaded guilty.

Presiding Judge Halima Wali sentenced them to pay a fine of N200,000 or serve two weeks in a correctional facility if they fail to pay the fine.
