Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert focusing on the Lake Chad region, disclosed the incident via his X handle on Monday. He said intelligence sources revealed that the brothers had taken their father’s vehicle to the outskirts of the village to learn how to drive when they were confronted by a mob.

According to the report, the mob accused the two men of stealing livestock and proceeded to beat them severely. The brothers sustained serious injuries before security operatives arrived at the scene.

They were rushed to the Community Health Centre in Sandamu for treatment but were later confirmed dead by medical personnel. The vehicle they used was also vandalized during the attack.

Authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident. The police are working to identify and apprehend those involved in the deadly assault.
