Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed this during a press briefing, highlighting the military’s intensified nationwide campaigns targeting terrorists, their collaborators, and support networks.

In a separate operation in Kaduna State, troops apprehended Babangida Usman, a wanted kidnap kingpin, alongside a notorious gunrunner and his son. Additionally, seven members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN), were arrested in Enugu and Imo States.

The military also disrupted oil theft operations, arresting 28 suspects and rescuing 67 kidnapped victims. Troops destroyed 215 crude oil cooking ovens, 26 dugout pits, and 42 illegal refining sites, recovering 842,685 liters of stolen crude oil and 12,340 liters of illegally refined diesel, denying criminals an estimated N747 million.

Further successes included the seizure of 104 assorted weapons, 1,953 rounds of ammunition, and various other items such as vehicles, motorcycles, and mobile phones.
