The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) has urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying of fuel, assuring the public that there is a sufficient supply of petroleum products.

In a statement released on Thursday in Lagos, MEMAN’s Chief Executive Officer, Clement Isong, addressed public concerns regarding perceived shortages in the fuel supply market.

“MEMAN assures the public and all stakeholders that we have significant stocks of products in our tanks and access to supplies from our partners, including Dangote Refinery and NNPC Trading Limited,” Isong said. “We also have a clear outlook on future supplies of all petroleum products.”

Isong explained that diversifying fuel sources and a deregulated market have allowed marketers to proactively secure supplies, reducing the likelihood of disruptions.

MEMAN, he added, does not anticipate any shortages either in the immediate or near term.

Isong also emphasized the importance of staying calm, highlighting that improvements in supply efficiency and logistics are ongoing. He reassured the public that MEMAN members remain dedicated to optimizing their supply chains to ensure that fuel is consistently available, accessible, and affordable for all consumers.
