Biafra Internal government has assured that Biafra will be a friendly nation and would cooperate as a good neighbor to Nigeria.

Prime Minister of Biafra Internal Government, Prof. Michael Mbaji, who stated this in a message on Nigeria’s 62nd independence anniversary, assured that the Biafran nation which was born on May 30, 1967, has already established cordial relationships with many countries through bilateral agreement in different areas.

Biafra Internal Government was set up by the founder of Biafra Independence Movement,BIM, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

The BIM leader had disclosed that the Biafra Internal Government was admitted by the United Nations as the 46th member of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization,UNPO,on April 22,2020.

Mbaji said; “Biafra congratulates Nigeria on its 62nd anniversary of its independence. Nigeria just celebrated the day it got independence from Britain on October 1, 1960. The British Empire ruled Nigeria for many years. In 1960, it was decided that they allow Nigeria to get political freedom from the British Empire. The Biafra nation assures Nigeria and her government that Biafra shall peacefully co-exist as good neighbours with Nigeria. The two countries would live and cooperate with each other.

“The movement for the beginning of Nigeria’s independence from Britain started with the late Herbert Macaulay. From Macaulay, the baton of struggle for freedom was handed over to Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.

“Biafra is congratulating Nigeria for two things; for securing complete political freedom from Britain. The British Empire used two important personalities to secure Nigeria’s freedom; the first was Lord Lugard who conceived Nigeria as a name. The second person is Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who eventually ‘officialized’ the freedom of Nigeria in 1960. In 1963, Nigeria became a republic.”
