Residents of Kano were left in shock after a man, identified as Suleiman Muntari, reportedly set himself on fire in a disturbing incident along Panshekara Road on Tuesday.

According to eyewitnesses, Muntari poured petrol on himself and set his body on fire, claiming he wanted to go to Paradise. Many bystanders initially assumed he was joking, but the situation quickly turned deadly as flames engulfed his body.

Observers noted that the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs, pointing to his erratic behavior and incoherent speech before the act. Despite efforts by locals to intervene, the fire spread rapidly.

Some residents attempted to save him by pulling him into a nearby drainage filled with water, but by then, he had sustained severe burns. The scene was described as horrific by those who witnessed the event.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the authorities regarding the incident.
