The court heard that Auwal stabbed his brother in the stomach with a knife during a fight, and also injured their mother when she tried to intervene.

The prosecuting counsel, Barrister Usman Abdullahi, charged the defendant with intimidation and causing serious injuries. Auwal pleaded guilty to the charges.

Delivering judgment, Justice Hadiza Muhammad Hassan sentenced Auwal to six months imprisonment or a fine of N10,000 for intimidation, and an additional six months imprisonment without an option of fine for inflicting injuries.

The judge added that the convict has up to one month to appeal the case.
