Some loyalists of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

One of which is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 election in Kano, Abba Kabir Yusuf, also known as Abba Gida-Gida.

He has formally joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.

Mr Yusuf, who was backed by a former governor of the state Rabiu Kwankwaso, lost the 2019 governorship election to the incumbent Governor Abdullahi Ganduje in a controversial election characterised by violence and massive rigging.

Mr Kwankwaso is also expected to join the party on March 30, and later declare for presidency on the party’s platform.

In his remark at the formal declaration at his Diso Ward in Gwale Local Government of Kano State, Mr Yusuf said the PDP is not different with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He said the PDP has failed the people of Kano and its leader in the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, despite massively voting for the party in 2019.
According him, the call became imperative in view of the yearning of the people for them to cross-carpet to the NNPP.

He said the NNPP has a clear blueprint that will salvage the country.
