Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and former governor of Kano State, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the family of late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.

During the visit, Senator Kwankwaso offered his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, describing the death of the former Nigerian leader as a significant loss to the nation. He also prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon the soul of the deceased.
Kwankwaso was accompanied by a delegation that included the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, political figure Dr. Buba Galadima, and other top NNPP members from Katsina State.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at The London Clinic in Harley Street, London, after a prolonged illness. He passed away around 4:30 pm and was buried in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
