The kidnappers had demanded N500,000 for each victim, but their families could only raise N500,000 in total, according to a relative, Shuaibu Abdullahi. He recounted that the leader of the kidnappers contacted them on Friday, revealing that the victims had already been executed.

Meanwhile, two other hostages , a herder and a woman, were released after a separate ransom of N3 million was paid at the kidnappers’ hideout in Kotonkarfe forest, Kogi State.

The traditional ruler of Gwargwada, Ugbada Alhaji Hussaini Agabi Mam, confirmed the incident, explaining that the victims were abducted while traveling from Rubochi. He expressed grief over the loss, attributing it to the delay in raising the ransom.
