The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released essential details about the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Below is a breakdown of the key dates, fees, and requirements for candidates.

Registration dates

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, announced that the sale of application forms will commence on January 31, 2025, and end on March 5, 2025. Direct Entry (DE) candidates can purchase their forms from March 10, 2025, to April 7, 2025.

Exam schedule

The Mock-UTME is slated for April 5, 2025, while the main UTME will take place between April 25, 2025, and May 5, 2025.

Fee structure

The cost of registration depends on whether candidates opt for the mock exam:

  • UTME with mock: N8,200
  • UTME only: N7,200
    For Direct Entry candidates, the fee is set at N5,700.

A special mock exam is available for underage candidates or those seeking to familiarize themselves with Computer-Based Tests (CBT), costing N3,500.

Breakdown of charges

Below is a detailed breakdown of JAMB fees:

  • Application fee: N3,500
  • Reading text: N1,000
  • CBT centre registration fee: N700
  • CBT centre UTME service fee: N1,500
  • Mock UTME fee: N1,500
  • Bank charges: N500

New mock exam for underage candidates

Prof. Oloyede highlighted a new initiative designed for candidates below 16 years. This mock exam is not for admission purposes but offers younger candidates an opportunity to gain CBT experience and prepare for future exams.

Age and performance requirements

To be eligible for admission into universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education, candidates must be 16 years old or older by September 30, 2025. However, exceptionally talented candidates under 15 may be considered if they achieve a UTME score of 280 or above and perform excellently in their Senior Secondary Certificate and post-UTME examinations.
