The school’s principal, Hajiya Rufa’atu Mahmud Baffa, explained that burglars broke into the ICT room by tampering with the ceiling and removing solar installations before carting away computers and other devices.
Their attempt, however, failed when KAROTA patrol officers, during a night operation, discovered the abandoned items. The culprits, who fled upon sighting the patrol team, left behind all the stolen equipment. The recovered items were later returned to the school authorities.
KAROTA Managing Director, Hon. Faisal Mahmud Kabir, praised his personnel for their vigilance and dedication, noting that their swift intervention safeguarded critical infrastructure meant for students. He further stressed the importance of protecting facilities provided under the World Bank-supported AGILE project.
Kabir assured that the agency would continue to strengthen its security operations by equipping officers and collaborating with other security agencies to ensure the safety of schools and other public institutions across the state.
