The Kano State Government has established a six-member committee to implement recommendations from an earlier inquiry into the #EndBadGovernance protests, which turned violent.

Governor Abba Yusuf inaugurated the committee on Tuesday, tasking its members with reviewing the report and providing further recommendations to prevent similar unrest in the future. He described the violence as a painful experience that led to loss of lives and property damage worth billions of naira.

Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring such incidents do not reoccur while also working to rebuild the economy and ease the suffering caused by the crisis. He expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver a timely and effective response, highlighting their expertise.

The committee is chaired by Dan Yahaya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services. Other members include Aliyu Garo from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Hadi Bala from the Ministry of Higher Education, Salisu Marmara from the Ministry of Justice, Yahaya Umar from the Planning, Research, and Statistics department, and Jamilu Usman, Assistant Secretary II.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, Yahaya expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government and Governor Yusuf for entrusting them with the assignment. He assured that the committee would work diligently to meet expectations.
