Kiyawa said the operation followed credible intelligence from residents of Farin Ruwa community in Shanono Local Government Area, which led to the arrest of the two suspects believed to be collaborating with bandits attempting to infiltrate the state.
He explained that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, had ordered a full investigation to determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement and identify other members of the syndicate.
“The Commissioner of Police appreciates the vigilance and cooperation of the Farin Ruwa community, which played a crucial role in providing actionable intelligence,” the statement said. “He urges all residents to remain alert and report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest security formation.”
In a related development, the command has been engaging community leaders and stakeholders to resolve ongoing clashes between farmers and herders in Barebari Ward of Makoda Local Government Area.
A follow-up meeting was held on Friday at the Command Headquarters, following earlier peace efforts led by ACP Mohammed Mani Gwarzo, the Area Commander of Dambatta.
The meeting, chaired by CP Bakori, focused on finding lasting solutions to the recurring conflict and ensuring peaceful coexistence among residents.
“The Commissioner of Police reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order while protecting lives and property across the state,” Kiyawa added.
He assured that the police would continue to strengthen community policing strategies and work closely with residents to ensure a safer Kano for all.
