“The suspect was identified as the mastermind behind the resurgence of Daba fighting between Kofar Mata and Zango youths,” Haruna stated.

During preliminary investigations, Jamilu reportedly confessed to leading the clashes. Further investigations also led to the arrest of Umar Garba, a 32-year-old resident of Zango Quarters, who was found in possession of a sharp long knife.

The police spokesman added that both suspects have been transferred to the command’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and will face charges upon the completion of the investigation.

Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, urged residents of Kofar Mata and Zango Quarters to cooperate with the police by providing useful information to help restore peace in the area.
