The incident, which occurred on August 4, 2025, prompted an urgent response from the police, who launched a coordinated operation across multiple divisions, including Dorayi Babba, Sharada, and Kumbotso, alongside other tactical units.
The arrests followed a 24-hour ultimatum issued by the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, directing officers to apprehend those responsible for the murder.
Recovered from the suspects were several dangerous weapons, including cutlasses and a pair of scissors, which are believed to have been used in the attack. Authorities say efforts are ongoing to track down other individuals who fled the scene.
