The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of 10 individuals linked to the purchase of stolen motorcycles, with seven motorcycles recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

The arrests followed the earlier capture of a notorious motorcycle thief, identified as Dahiru Jibrin, on August 11, 2025. According to the police, investigations carried out by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) led to the bust of the receivers and the recovery of the stolen motorcycles.
The Commissioner of Police in Kano, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the team of officers who handled the case, praising their professionalism and dedication. He reiterated the Command’s commitment to breaking criminal networks and tackling the illegal trade of stolen goods across the state.
“The Police Command will continue to intensify its operations to bring perpetrators of crime to justice and prevent future incidents. We also urge residents to support our efforts by sharing timely information,” CP Bakori said.
The Police Command further assured that it remains steadfast in protecting lives and property, calling on residents to report any suspicious activity through its emergency contacts.
