Residents of communities at the border of Karaye Local Government Area in Kano and Kafur Local Government Area in Katsina have appealed for the construction of a bridge on the road connecting Kwanyawa and Dan Kanjiba.

The call was made in a statement issued on Sunday, August 31, 2025, by the Kwanyawa Youth Development Association (K.Y.D.A.), signed by its spokesperson, Auwal Sa’idu Kwanyawa, Arewa Update reports.

According to the association, the absence of a bridge makes movement difficult during the rainy season, leaving residents stranded and unable to cross into either state.

They stressed that the road is vital for trade and other socio-economic activities in the area, but the lack of a bridge has forced commuters to take longer and more costly routes through Gwarzo or Mahuta before reaching Danja.
