The Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has dismissed two court officials over bribery allegations while reinstating three others accused of forgery.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Baba Jibo, spokesperson for the Kano State Judiciary, announced that Hudu Idris, a Registrar at the Upper Sharia Court in Gwarzo, was compulsorily retired, while Abba Bala Gwarzo, a casual watchman at the same court, had his appointment terminated. The two were found guilty of collecting bribes totaling N214,000.

Jibo explained that the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee (JPCC) led an investigation into the matter, during which both officials admitted to their involvement in the corrupt practice. The JSC subsequently approved the JPCC’s recommendations.

Meanwhile, the commission lifted the suspension of Bilya Abdullahi, Auwalu Khalil, and Ismaila Garba, who had been accused of forging a court reversal order.

Following a thorough investigation by the JPCC and the police, the allegations against them were found to be unsubstantiated.
