The title was bestowed on him by Honourable Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the newly installed Sardaunan Kasar Hausa Mai Tuta, during an investiture ceremony held in Daura, Katsina State.
Yaro, who holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Bayero University, Kano, has made a name for himself through his commitment to ethical and professional journalism. He previously worked with Media Trust and is currently with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), where he continues to earn praise for his dedication to truthful and balanced reporting.
Speaking during the ceremony, Doguwa described Yaro as a symbol of loyalty, trust, and commitment to shared values. He expressed confidence that the journalist would use his new title to promote unity, culture, and development within and beyond the Hausa community.
In his response, Yaro expressed gratitude for the honour, describing it as a call to greater service. He pledged to support the vision of the Sardaunan Kasar Hausa Mai Tuta and to continue representing the values and cultural heritage of the Hausa people locally and internationally.
Yaro’s recognition adds to the growing list of Nigerian journalists honoured with traditional titles. Notably, Alhaji Aminu Dangana (Media Trust), was turbaned as Matawallen Tudun Wada in Kano. Other recipients include Gboyega Jelil Alaka (The Nation), and Mohammed Baba Busu (NAN).
