This directive was given by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, during a condolence visit to the communities of Tudun Fulani and Kurna, where violent clashes recently claimed the life of a resident.
The commissioner noted that the situation has become a serious concern, particularly in the city and surrounding areas. He emphasized that young people and local vigilantes must not run from criminal elements but should instead protect themselves and their families.
He added that the growing threat requires a united response from all residents, warning against relying solely on social media criticisms to address the issue. The commissioner advised youths to respond to any attacks and ensure that the criminals are subdued before law enforcement arrives.
Umar also commended the efforts of the police for arresting suspects linked to the recent murder in Tudun Fulani and Kurna, reaffirming the government’s resolve to tackle insecurity in the state.
