Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, who announced the development, explained that the committee will review the land deal to determine whether proper procedures were followed.
According to him, the panel will also identify those connected to the sale, trace any government assets or funds that may have gone missing in the process, and suggest steps for recovery.
The committee is further tasked with recommending preventive measures against similar controversies in the future, including advising on plans to develop a modern abattoir for the state.
The panel is chaired by Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, a former head of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, and has been given three weeks to submit its report.
