The Kano State Government has vowed to curb the smoking of Shisha in the state.

The Managing Director of the State Tourism Board, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Lajawa, disclosed this in an interview with Daily News 24.

Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Lajawa said this was a step in the direction of the government to further purify Kano State from the vices and crimes that could threaten the upbringing of the youth.

Lajawa added that since November 3, Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has signed law, which will come into force in 2022.

“The law includes owners of event centers, as well as rooms for children under the age of 18 in hotels across the state.

“The law does not stop there, it includes all the dealers who sell shisha, and its sellers or breweries.

“Our agency has already taken the initiative to guide the owners of these businesses, to ensure that they do not violate this law which will take effect soon,” Yusuf Ibrahim Lajawa.

The managing director also said that it was the duty of the people of Kano State to give the commission the necessary impetus to succeed in its mission.
