The Kano State Government has ordered the closure of ten hotels across the city for failing to comply with tourism regulations.
Among the affected establishments are popular spots such as Sarina Suites, Horizon Hotel, and Blue Spot Hotel.

In a statement made available to journalists, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Ibrahim Adam Bagwai, confirmed the development, explaining that the action was taken as part of ongoing efforts to sanitize the hospitality sector.
Bagwai noted that the government is committed to ensuring that all hospitality and recreational centers in Kano operate in line with laid-down standards that promote decency, safety, and proper hygiene.
He added that the ministry will sustain regular inspections to guarantee compliance and maintain order within the state’s tourism industry.
