The Kano State Government has dispatched 588 students to 15 northern states under the Students Exchange Programme for the 2024/2025 third-term holiday.
This initiative, according to the Kano State Ministry of Education, is aimed at fostering unity and promoting cultural integration among youths across the northern region.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Kano, the Ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Balarabe Kiru, said the students comprising both boys and girls have been transported to various participating states.
The students were sent to Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Jigawa, Katsina, Kebbi, Taraba, Yobe, Kaduna, Nasarawa, Gombe, Borno, Niger, Plateau, and Kwara.
The government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, provided all necessary logistics and financial support to ensure the success of the programme.
Auwal Muhammad Mustapha, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, expressed appreciation to the state’s Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna Makoda, for his backing, and also acknowledged the role of parents and other stakeholders in facilitating the process.
