The Kano State Government has congratulated QS Dr. Aminu M. Bashir on his investiture as the 28th President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).

According to a statement signed by Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, the government described Dr. Bashir’s election as historic, noting that he is the first Kano indigene to lead the national professional body. The statement highlighted that the investiture ceremony, held over the weekend in Abuja, attracted professionals from engineering and related fields, as well as representatives from government agencies and corporate organizations.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, through the statement, praised Dr. Bashir’s decades of experience, integrity, and commitment to mentorship and community service. The government expressed confidence that his leadership would bring innovation and renewed energy to the NIQS, steering the institute toward greater achievements.
The statement also urged Dr. Bashir to continue upholding professionalism, integrity, and patriotism in his role, while reaffirming Kano State’s commitment to supporting citizens in reaching the highest levels of professional success.
