The warning was issued by the Secretary of the State Shura Committee, Shehu Wada Sagagi, during a press conference held on Sunday in Kano.
Sagagi noted that some clerics outside the state had begun to make remarks on the issue even before the committee concluded its investigation. He described such actions as unnecessary interference capable of obstructing the committee’s progress.
He explained that the committee was handling the case with fairness, transparency, and strict adherence to legal and Islamic principles, urging everyone to allow it to complete its work without external pressure.
Sagagi further appealed to members of the public and religious leaders to cooperate with the committee to ensure a peaceful and respectful process. He warned that unguarded comments or actions could trigger unrest or disrupt the fragile peace in the state.
