Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has taken decisive action during his visit to Garko Local Government Area (LGA) today by revoking the contract for the ongoing construction of the 5-kilometer road project in the area.

Daily News 24 reports that the governor cited the substandard quality of work as the primary reason for his decision, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to ensuring that infrastructure projects meet the highest standards.

The governor also ordered the reconstruction of Kafin Ciri Dam, the upgrade of the Primary Health Care Center to a General Hospital, and the modernization of the local market, addressing critical infrastructure, healthcare, and economic needs in Garko.

These directives come shortly after Governor Yusuf issued a seven-day ultimatum to contractors handling 5-kilometer road projects in various local governments across the state. The ultimatum was a stern warning for contractors to return to work and meet their contractual obligations or face termination.
