Lawan Hussaini Dala, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, stated on Monday that the legislation aims to enhance Kano’s cleanliness and elevate its status to match that of globally recognized developed cities.

The law includes additional penalties for violators to ensure environmental order.

Meanwhile, the Assembly has also progressed with a second reading of a bill to amend the Kano Waste Management and Environmental Sanitation Authority Act, which seeks to introduce an Assistant Executive Governor.
