The announcement, made via an internal circular dated July 28, 2025, stated that the appointment takes immediate effect, pending further directives from the Executive Governor of Kano State.

The circular, signed by L. Dauda, Chief Security Officer (CSO) on behalf of the Executive Chairman, urged all directors, unit heads, and staff of the Commission to extend full cooperation and support to the new Acting Chairman to ensure smooth operations and continuity in service delivery.

Prior to this development, the Commission had been under the leadership of Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, who assumed office in 2016 following his appointment by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. However, he was suspended in July 2021 and later removed from the position after the Kano State House of Assembly raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Management also reaffirmed its commitment to upholding effective leadership and sustaining the Commission’s mandate in the fight against corruption and promoting accountability in Kano State.
