The Kano State Government has approved a break for both primary and secondary school students across the state ahead of the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, boarding students are to commence the holiday from Wednesday, June 4, 2025, and are expected to resume on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
Day students, on the other hand, will observe their break from Wednesday, June 4, and return to school on Monday, June 16, 2025.
Parents and guardians of boarding school students have been advised to pick up their children in the early hours of Wednesday.
While announcing the break, the Ministry clarified that all other parts of the 2024/2025 academic calendar, including scheduled public holidays, remain unchanged.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, urged parents to ensure that their children resume school on the designated dates and acknowledged the continued support and cooperation received from the public.
