Residents of Juji community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State are facing increasing hardship due to the abandonment of the Juji-Ungwan Gimbiya bridge project, which has been left incomplete and in a poor state for years.

The bridge, which connects the community to surrounding areas, has become nearly impassable, especially during the rainy season. Erosion and stagnant water have taken over the site, making it dangerous for both pedestrians and vehicles. As a result, schoolchildren are often unable to attend classes, while parents struggle to go about their daily work and businesses.

The situation has disrupted daily life in the community, with many residents unable to cross safely during heavy rainfall. The makeshift alternatives are no longer reliable, putting lives at risk and cutting off access to essential services.

Community members are appealing to the Kaduna State Government and the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA) to intervene and complete the long-abandoned project. They believe the completion of the bridge would restore normalcy and improve movement within and beyond the area.

To raise awareness, residents have started a campaign on social media, calling on the public to help draw the attention of the authorities to their plight.
